As a courtesy service, the ACS provides this map of official communities belonging to the Catholic Ordinariates for the Anglican tradition, as well as lay associations of Ordinariate Members & Friends that celebrate the Anglican Patrimony of the Catholic Church.
Ordinariate communities are canonically established under the auspices of their bishop/ordinary; so-called Ordinariate Members & Friends groups are legally and financially independent of the ACS or the Ordinariates. These latter groups routinely meet for fellowship and prayer, and some may be seeking to fulfill the requirements for each Ordinariate to petition the bishop/ordinary to make them a canonical Ordinariate community-in-formation.
All canonical Ordinariate communities are automatically listed on the ACS map. Ordinariate Members & Friends groups that wish to be featured on the ACS Map are asked to provide requested information in order to be listed.
1. Our ACS Map is a courtesy service. We ask the leader of an Ordinariate Members & Friends group subscribe (click here) as an individual regular or lifetime member of the Anglicanorum Coetibus Society (ACS). This helps us keep in contact with your group's leader and make sure your listing up to date. It also gives you an opportunity to network with other ACS members and consult with the ACS on resources or information about taking the next steps to contact the respective Ordinariate chancery about how to become a canonical community-in-formation.
The ACS is happy to share informational resources and provide consultation to groups of Ordinariate Members & Friends as they develop their own strategic framework to carry out evangelization and ecumenical outreach, and grow to meet their respective Ordinariate's requirements (e.g. Architects of Communion) to petition for canonical recognition as a community-in-formation.
2. For placement on the ACS Map, we request that Ordinariate Members & Friends groups provide us with a regular meeting place within a defined city or town. This may be as simple as somebody's house, or an office space, or a library room, or some other meeting space, etc. Groups that wish to meet for regular prayer and fellowship in churches, however, should contact the Ordinariate chancery. The ACS can provide informational resources on this process upon request.
Please also provide the ACS with a contact person (name, phone number and/or email address) along with the physical address of the meeting place to be published on the map: click here.
The actual meeting place may be kept private (especially if it is somebody's home), but contact information must be given so that potential new members of the group can contact you for meeting times and locations.
3. In order to keep the ACS Map relevant, we request that Ordinariate Members & Friends groups seeking to be listed on our map meet regularly for prayer and fellowship (at least once a month) and incorporate Morning or Evening Prayer (whichever is appropriate) from the Anglican tradition. We recommend use of the approved editions of Divine Worship: Daily Office for the Ordinariates, or the Ordinariate office published online here.
If your group would like to incorporate programmatic content, the ACS has a wealth of resources you can consult, including our website, our journal Shared Treasure, and e-magazine St. Peter's Rambler.
4. As a reminder, the ACS Map is a courtesy service, as are our ACS resources and informational services.
Ordinariate Members and Friends groups are independent of the ACS and the Ordinariates, and therefore are responsible for their own legal incorporation, financial oversight, and adherence to Safe Environment policies. Being listed on the ACS Map is informational only, and does not involve any legal or contractual relationship with the ACS. At any time, the ACS is free to suspend or remove your listing from our ACS Map.
5. Please contact the ACS with all this information, and keep the ACS updated regularly. If your group becomes inactive or changes in canonical status, please let us know, so we can update our map accordingly:
